Container transportation started at Giresun Port.
The ship, on which containers containing cat food, mineral and refined oil products worth approximately $2 million were loaded, set out from Giresun to Tekirdag Port.
Governor Fatih Mehmet Serdengecti visited the port and received information about container transportation.
Serdengecti told the AA correspondent that Giresun Port is one of the ports that has experienced heavy traffic in import and export recently.
Stating that this traffic will accelerate even more with container transportation, Serdengecti said, “This container activity will make a significant contribution to the economy of both our country, the region and Giresun. I attach great importance to this. I hope it will develop further. Congratulation.”
