Dried fig exports to the USA increased by 42% in the last year.
Exports of dried figs, one of Turkiye’s important export products and a significant contribution to the country’s economy, to the USA increased by 42% in the last year, reaching $50 million.
Export figures for dried figs, which is an important export product of Aydin, where the world’s best quality figs grow, continue to give hope day by day. While dried fig production from 30 thousand tons increased to 90 thousand tons in the last 30 years, exports of seedless raisins, dried figs and dried apricots constituted 94% of the total exports in dried fruit exports in the Aegean Region.
Exports of dried figs, the fruit of paradise, increased by 22%, from $203 million to $251 million. In this context, thanks to the “TURQUALITY” project that has been carried out in the US market for 5 years, dried fig exports to the USA increased by 42% in the last year, from $35 million to $50 million, and strengthened its place at the top. It was successful in exporting dried figs worth $29 million to France, one of the strong markets in dried fig exports, and $28 million to Germany.
