A record from Sakarya, which exports to 164 countries, with exports of $5.7 billion

Sakarya broke a record with exports of $5.7 billion in 2023. While products were sent to 164 countries, $5.7 billion of input was provided from them.

According to the statement of the Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SATSO), in line with the data announced by the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Sakarya exported $5.7 billion in 2023, an increase of 16% compared to the previous year. Products were sent to 164 countries from Sakarya, which reached the highest annual export figure in its history.

The top 5 countries in exports last year were Poland, France, Spain, the United Kingdom and Italy.

SATSO Chairman of the Board of Directors Akgun Altug, whose views were included in the statement, stated that Sakarya continues to increase its effectiveness in world trade day by day.

“We are implementing practices that encourage green transformation in the industry”

Pointing out that production models have changed in the world and trade now requires being more competitive and faster, Altug said:

“Epidemic diseases, natural disasters and hot wars that have shaken our country and the world in recent years have disrupted the balance of trade. As Sakarya, we are a city that has adopted the idea of designing the future from yesterday and producing for the whole world. We shape our investments accordingly by focusing on green transformation and sustainable production. We implement practices that encourage green transformation in the industry. Our Ar-Ge projects are an example of this. We hope that with these moves, our rise in exports will continue. I would like to thank the valuable business community of Sakarya, which has the biggest share in breaking the export record and carries us forward in world trade with the value-added production they create.”
