Eastern Black Sea region earned $1 billion 375 million from exports last year

Exports of $1 billion 375 million 192 thousand were made from Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gumushane in 2023.

Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKIB) Chairman Saffet Kalyoncu said in his written statement that last year, $1 billion 57 million 798 thousand of exports were made from Trabzon, $203 million 68 thousand from Rize, $66 million 143 thousand from Artvin, and $48 million 183 thousand from Gumushane.

Kalyoncu pointed out that the hazelnut sector leads the Eastern Black Sea region’s total exports of $1 billion 375 million 192 thousand with 530 million 889 thousand 841. He stated that fresh fruits and vegetables ranked second with $216 million 194 thousand 822, aquaculture and livestock products ranked third with $213 million 12 thousand 909, mines and metals ranked fourth with $143 million 830 thousand 92, and chemicals and their products ranked fifth with $42 million 436 thousand 370.

Kalyoncu pointed out that exports were made to 140 countries from the region last year, and noted that the Russian Federation, Italy, Georgia, Germany and the People’s Republic of China were the countries with the most exports.

Stating that there was a significant increase in exports to Morocco, Iran, Finland, Mongolia and Uzbekistan, Kalyoncu stated that unlike the previous year, exports were made to 12 countries, especially Iceland, Myanmar, Togo and Madagascar.
