Turkish carpet manufacturers earned $1 billion 957 million 121 thousand from the 432 million 135 thousand square meters of carpets they exported in the 9 months of the year.
Carpet exporters, who made new investments and continued their search for markets, sent their products to 185 countries in the January-September period.
Turkish carpet manufacturers earned $1 billion 957 million 121 thousand of export income in return for 432 million 135 thousand square meters of carpets delivered to all over the world in 9 months of the year. Carpet manufacturers had exported $1 billion 979 million 813 thousand in the same period last year.
Most foreign currency inflow comes from the USA
In the 9 months of the year, carpet manufacturers exported machine-made carpets worth $1 billion 565 million 486 thousand and tufted carpets worth $335 million 170 thousand.
Turkish carpet manufacturers, who sent the most products to the USA, the Middle East and Europe, earned the most foreign currency from the USA with $546 million 167 thousand, Saudi Arabia with $210 million 614 thousand and the UK with $127 million 791 thousand.
Gaziantep had the highest export on a provincial basis with $1 billion 356 million 787 thousand. Gaziantep was followed by Istanbul with $454 million 245 thousand and Usak with $48 million 379 thousand. Thus, Gaziantep’s share in Turkiye’s carpet exports became 67.6%.
The exports of Turkish carpet manufacturers in the last 12 months were recorded as $2 billion 730 million 689 thousand.
