Turkish benchmark stock index starts midweek up

Stock exchange earns around 25 points at opening session

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 8,118.22 points, up by 0.30% or 24.67 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 8,093.54 points, down by 0.17%, with a daily trading volume of 93 billion liras ($3.21 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.9035 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT), while the euro/Turkish lira rate stood at 31.8350, and a British pound traded for 36.7845 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $81.56 per barrel,while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,044.60.
