Exports of $133.5 million from the Eastern Black Sea in January

Exports worth $133 million 497 thousand were made from Trabzon, Rize, Artvin and Gumushane in January.

Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association (DKIB) Chairman Saffet Kalyoncu stated that in January, $102 million 297 thousand of exports were made from Trabzon, $17 million 598 thousand from Rize, $7 million 463 thousand from Artvin and $6 million 139 thousand from Gumushane.

Stating that there was a 4% decrease in Trabzon’s exports and a 7% decrease in Rize’s exports compared to the same period last year, Kalyoncu stated that there was a 42% increase in Artvin exports and a 63% increase in Gumushane exports.

Kalyoncu pointed out that hazelnuts are one of the most exported sectors with $57 million 52 thousand 707.

Kalyoncu noted that aquatic products and products ranked second with $22 million 30 thousand 750 and stated that fresh fruits and vegetables came in third place with $18 million 177 thousand 343, mines and metals came in fourth place with $16 million 450 thousand 247, and vehicles and sub-industry came in fifth place with $3 million 867 thousand 872.

Kalyoncu stated that a total of $133 million 497 thousand were exported from the region to 87 countries in January, and that the Russian Federation, Italy, Georgia, Bulgaria and Poland were in the top 5 in exports.
