Gazprom’s net profit decreased by 41% in 2022

Russian energy company Gazprom’s net profit fell by 41% year on year to 1.2 trillion rubles (about $15.3 billion) in 2022.

According to Gazprom’s statement, company revenues increased from 10.2 trillion rubles to 11.6 trillion rubles last year compared to the previous year.

The company’s 2022 net profit, on the other hand, decreased by 41% compared to 2021 and fell to 1.2 trillion rubles, and despite this decrease, the company provided a high level of profit.

The statement cited the increase in tax payments in the second half of last year as the main reason for the decline in company profits.

Many countries in Europe had decided to stop or reduce Russian gas imports due to the war in Ukraine.
