Germany Records 2.5% Inflation in February

The Federal Statistical Office of Germany (Destatis) has released preliminary inflation data for the month of February, indicating that the annual inflation rate in Germany stood at 2.5%.

According to the data, the yearly inflation rate in Germany, which was 2.9% in January, decreased to 2.5% in February.

Inflation in the country for the month of February was determined to be 0.4% compared to the previous month.

Market expectations for February predicted a monthly inflation rate of 0.5% and an annual rate of 2.5% in Germany. The actual inflation figures aligned with the yearly expectations but were slightly lower on a monthly basis.

Furthermore, the inflation rate for February marked the lowest level measured in the country since June 2021.

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP), which is in line with EU standards, showed a monthly increase of 0.6% and an annual increase of 2.7% in February compared to the previous month.
