Benchmark index gains 21.81 points at opening session
Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 8,035.70 points, up 0.27%, or 21.81 points, from the previous close.
On Wednesday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index ended the day at 8,013.89 points,down 1.79%, with a daily trading volume of 141.3 billion liras ($5.2 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 26.9503 as of 9.53 a.m. local time (0653GMT), and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.0020, and a British pound traded for 33.6707 liras.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $92.48 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,928.65.
