Google now lets you self-repair your Pixel 7a

Fixing your own phone can be a daunting and expensive task, but it’s becoming easier thanks to self-repair programs offered by phone makers like Google. Google’s self-repair program, launched in 2022, allows owners of Pixel phones to fix their own devices. The Pixel 7a is the latest phone to be added to the self-repair program.

Google has partnered with iFixit to offer a self-repair program for Pixel phones, including the Pixel 7a (via Android Authority). The program allows you to purchase replacement parts and tools for your Pixel 7a, as well as access to step-by-step repair guides.

The parts available through the program include digitizer screens, rear covers, batteries, rear camera holders, and both wide and ultrawide camera sensors. Prices range from $36 to $109, with the display being the most expensive part.

Some of the replacement parts also come with a lifetime guarantee, which means that iFixit guarantees “product is guaranteed to function as long as you have it.” This is a great way to save money on repairs and extend the life of your Pixel 7a.

In addition to saving money, repairing your own phone can help reduce electronic waste. E-waste is a growing problem, and by repairing our devices, we can help keep them out of landfills.

Google’s self-repair program is a great way to extend the life of your Pixel phone and help the environment. So if you’re looking to fix your own phone, be sure to check out the program.
