While the activity in the heavy commercial vehicles sector continues, the heavy commercial vehicle market grew by 48% in the first half of the year compared to the same period of the previous year.
In June 2023, 3 thousand 654 units were sold in the heavy commercial vehicle market. In the January-June period of 2023, the sector reached a total of 22 thousand 52 sales with an increase of 48% compared to the same period of the previous year. The sector, which closed 2022 with 38 thousand 149 vehicle sales, thus realized 58% of last year’s total volume in the first 6 months this year.
The sales of tractor trucks used in long-haul and domestic logistics services increased by 48% in the January-June period of 2023 compared to the previous year and amounted to 13 thousand 451 units. Truck sales of 16 tons and above for applications such as construction, mining, distribution and freight transportation, and waste management increased by 54% to 5 thousand 631 units, and sales of trucks under 16 tons increased by 36% to 2 thousand 970 units.
Semi-trailer vehicle sales increased by 19% in June 2023 compared to June of the previous year and amounted to 1,172. In the January-June period of 2023, 9 thousand 325 vehicles were sold in the semi-trailer vehicle market, an increase of 66% compared to the same period of the previous year.
