Local startup Fume entered its new era by receiving an investment of $500 thousand from Y Combinator

Fume, a local startup founded by two friends, Emre Gucer and Metehan Oz, who dropped out of their university education, received $500 thousand from Y Combinator and was accepted to the new period of the program.

Founded by Emre Gucer and Metehan Oz in 2023, Fume develops end-to-end automation tools for software teams’ workflows using large language models.

Fume helps large software teams increase their productivity through artificial intelligence automation. The team, which was incorporated by receiving an investment of $500 thousand from Y Combinator, one of the most prestigious early-stage acceleration programs in the world, wants to rapidly expand its product portfolio in 2024.

It should be noted that Fume received its first investments from QNBEYOND Ventures before Y Combinator. QNBEYOND Ventures, which is its 11th investment, did not share financial details about this round.

The team, which has been developing products since they were roommates in high school, left their studies in the USA where they went to university and launched Fume.

The startup’s first product, Fume PR Assistant, which was announced days ago, enables software teams to complete the feedback and revision cycle in minutes, which takes days. Fume has already managed to acquire users from unicorn and decacorn companies.

Fume co-founder and CEO Emre Gucer said about the company’s mission and long-term goals;

“90% of the unicorns that will emerge in the next 10 years will be from the field of artificial intelligence. We want to be one of them. We addressed a problem we personally experienced and our goal is to radically change the software development industry. We imagine a completely different software world in the future where humans and artificial intelligence models work as a team.”

Ozge Oz, managing partner of QNBEYOND Ventures, Fume’s first investor, said in her statement:

“We are very excited about the current state of artificial intelligence and its possible impact in the coming period. Teams like Emre and Metehan, who learn and act very quickly, will leave their mark on this field once they become dedicated. We are very happy to be their first investor.”
