Marti acquired artificial intelligence company Zoba to maximize the number of rides

Zoba allows two-wheeled electric vehicle operators to increase their revenues and reduce field operation costs with the artificial intelligence-supported platform it offers.

We shared with you all the details about Marti, which made its public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in July last year. Marti, one of the most important players in the electric scooter rental market in Turkiye, announced that it has made a new acquisition.

According to information provided by Marti, the company acquired Zoba, a US-based artificial intelligence company. Let us also add that no information was shared regarding the financial details of the purchase agreement between Marti and Zoba.

Founded in Boston in 2017 by Daniel Brennan and Joseph Brennan, Zoba allows two-wheeled electric vehicle operators to increase their revenues and reduce field operation costs with the artificial intelligence-supported platform it offers.

Thanks to Zoba’s demand forecasting algorithms, it is aimed to maximize the number of rides and minimize vehicle operational inefficiencies by dynamically optimizing where vehicles will be positioned and when operational tasks will be performed.

Let us also share that Marti carried out pilot projects with Zoba in October and November 2023. In pilot projects, an increase in the number of rides of Marti vehicles was achieved, thanks to the use of Zoba software. Zoba, which is actively used in more than 200 cities around the world, has raised $17 million in investment to date. Zoba’s investors include NTTVC, CRV, Founder Collective and Mark Cuban.

Marti founder Oguz Alper Oktem stated that they carried out pilot projects with several optimization software providers within the scope of their efforts to increase the revenues and reduce the costs of two-wheeled electric vehicle operations and stated that they achieved the best results by using Zoba’s software. Oktem also stated that they are excited to incorporate this artificial intelligence-supported software, which provides the best results in their efforts to increase the usability of vehicles for their drivers and reduce field operation costs.
