Turkiye’s leading automotive manufacturer Otokar continues to be the primary choice of its users in the field of buses. Otokar, which has the widest product range in Turkiye with its buses of different lengths from 6 meters to 21 meters and alternative fuel products, became Turkiye’s most preferred brand for the 15th time in a row with its total sales in the bus and midibus markets.

Otokar, which set out in 1963 with the aim of doing what has never been done before and has broken new ground in Turkiye since the day it was founded, continued its growth in domestic and international bus segments. It continued to raise standards in public transportation with its renewed and expanded product range.

Otokar Commercial Vehicles Domestic Marketing and Sales Director Murat Tokatlı emphasized that 2023 is an important year for both Turkiye and Otokar and said, “Last year, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of our republic and the 60th anniversary of our company,which played an important role in the industrialization revolution of our country. . “We have left behind a successful year with our new vehicles in our product range, our sales success and future investments,” he said.


3 OUT OF EVERY 1 BUSES SOLD WAS OTOKAR

Pointing out that Otokar will meet the expectations of its users in the best way in 2023 with its wide product range and after-sales services, Tokatlı said, “It has been a year in which we increasingly continued our success in the bus field. We added the 9-meter-long Sultan Giga to our Sultan vehicle family, which is the primary choice of tourism and service transportation. We repeated our long-standing success by achieving significant sales with our Sultan buses in 2023. Last year, in addition to the 20 metrobuses we delivered to Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, we made important deliveries in many cities such as Bursa, Balıkesir and Muğla. According to Automotive Industry Association (OSD) data, 2023 out of every 3 vehicles sold in the midibus and bus market in Turkiye in 1 will be Otokar branded. We would like to thank our customers, colleagues and all our business partners who took us to the leadership for the 15th time. “We aim to maintain our leadership in 2024,” he said.

BUS EXPORTS CONTINUE TO INCREASE

Continuing its domestic success in the bus field in foreign markets and receiving significant orders, especially from Europe, Otokar continued to take strategic steps in 2023. It established its third European subsidiary in Italy, after France and Romania. The company increased its total exports of midibuses and buses in 2023 by 72 percent in terms of units compared to the previous year.
