Turkish automotive industry exported $17.3 billion in the first 6 months of the year

It has been reported that the Turkish automotive industry achieved $17 billion 337 million of exports in the first 6 months of the year.

According to the statement made by the Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association (OIB), the Turkish automotive industry exported $3 billion in June with an increase of 9% compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the first 6 months of the year, the automotive industry exports increased by 13,7% to $17 billion 337 million.

Exports of passenger cars increased by 12% to $984 million, exports of motor vehicles for the transportation of goods increased by 10% to $419 million, exports of buses, minibuses and midibuses increased by 45% to $205 million and tow trucks exports increased by 27% to $178 million.

In June, the most exports were made to France on the basis of countries. Exports to France in June increased by 10% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $400 million.

Exports to Germany, which is the biggest market of the sector but ranked second in June, decreased by 4% to $388 million.

Exports to the third largest market, the United Kingdom, were $284 million

$2 billion 43 million were exported to the European Union, which ranks first with a share of 68% on the basis of country group, with an increase of 10%.

OIB Chairman of the Board of Directors Baran Celik, whose views are included in the statement, emphasized that they have achieved an export of over $3 billion for the third time this year.

Stating that there were significant increases in the exports of buses, minibuses, midibuses and tow trucks in June, Celik said, “We recorded double-digit increases to Spain, Slovenia, Russia and Israel on a country basis.”
