Putin’s Deputy Oreshkin: “(Turkiye-Russia relations) There is great potential that has not yet been realized”

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Deputy Maksim Oreshkin stated that important projects and studies are carried out in many fields with Turkiye, “There is a great potential for the future that has not been realized yet.”

Russia’s former Minister of Economic Development, Oreshkin, answered the questions of the AA correspondent as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

Stating that important studies are being carried out between Turkiye and Russia, Oreshkin said, “Great studies are being carried out in many areas. These areas are also known by everyone. For example, we continue to work intensively in many areas such as nuclear energy, mutual trade and so on.”

Pointing out that Turkiye and Russia carry out many “interesting” projects jointly, Oreshkin said, “I can clearly say that we have not realized even 50% of the possible potential in our cooperation.”

“There is so much to do”

Expressing that they expect the steps to be taken by the two countries to continue, Maksim Oreshkin said:

“Therefore, there is much to be done to ensure that all the opportunities that exist in the interaction between Russia and Turkiye are realized. We will try to realize that. Both Putin and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have willpower on this issue, they hold extensive and frequent meetings, and they consult on all these issues. I am also working in this direction with my colleagues. There is great potential for the future that has not yet been realized.”
