According to temporary data published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT), the real effective exchange rate index based on 2003=100 increased by 1.67 points compared to the previous month to 59.77 on a CPI basis last month. The index was at 58.10 in March 2024.
During this period, the real effective exchange rate index based on WPI-CPI rose from 88.97 to 91.64, an increase of 2.67 points.
The value of the Turkish lira increased by 0.66 points on a CPI basis compared to the same month last year, while it decreased by 2.13 points on a WPI-CPI basis.
