Special program to train women leaders from SOCAR Turkiye: Women Energy

SOCAR Turkiye continues the Women Energy program, which it started with the aim of contributing to the equal representation of young women in business and management roles, with a one-year training program. 10 candidates selected for the program, to which 2,200 newly graduated young female candidates applied, will take their place in departments such as digital transformation and finance, as well as field-oriented engineering roles such as production and process at different locations of SOCAR Turkiye.

Turkiye’s largest foreign direct investor, SOCAR Turkiye, continues its Women Energy project, led by women managers, with the “Management Trainee” (MT) program.

Running the Women Energy project with the aim of contributing to the equal representation of women in business and management roles, SOCAR Turkiye supports young women who want to start their careers in the energy sector with the Women’s Leadership Development Program.

Among the applications made by 2,200 young female candidates who have recently graduated from university from all over Turkiye to the MT program, 40 people were selected to participate in the Ideathon, the “candidate selection workshop”. Candidates who participated in the 1-day workshop in eight teams of five each developed content on “How can we design a better working environment for women”. As a result of the evaluation made among the participants of the workshop, 10 people were entitled to participate in the MT program.

The 10 selected people will have the opportunity to work in fields such as production, process and project, as well as in departments such as digital transformation and finance, in different locations of SOCAR Turkiye. In the 1-year MT program, candidates will be given training on “seeing the big picture, gender equality, agility, scrum, presentation techniques, energy and oil market, quality, kaizen” to improve themselves.
