The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye’s reserves rose to the highest level in 31 weeks

The Central Bank’s total reserves reached $126 billion 125 million in the week of October 20, an increase of $1 billion 627 million compared to the previous week, reaching the highest level of 31 weeks.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT) has published its Weekly Money and Bank Statistics.

Accordingly, as of October 20, the Central Bank’s gross foreign exchange reserves decreased by $740 million to $82 billion 567 million. Gross foreign exchange reserves were at the level of $83 billion 307 million on October 13.

During the said period, gold reserves increased by $2 billion 367 million, from $41 billion 191 million to $43 billion 558 million.

The Central Bank’s total reserves reached the highest level of 31 weeks in the week of October 20, increasing by $1 billion 627 million compared to the previous week, from $124 billion 498 million to $126 billion 125 million.

Broke the record for the longest increase

The increase in total reserves from the end of May to the week ending October 20 was $27 billion 667 million, and during this period, total reserves increased for 15 consecutive weeks, breaking the record for the longest increase in the data history that started in 1987.
