The sub-industry exports of the automotive sector exceeded $7 billion in Turkiye

In the first half of the year, $7 billion 172 million 556 thousand of automotive sub-industry products were exported from Turkiye.

According to the compilation of Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters’ Association (OIB) data, automotive sub-industry products were exported to more than 200 countries, free zones and autonomous regions in the January-June period.

In the first 6 months of this year, 41.4% of the total automotive exports, which was $17 billion 336 million 757 thousand, consisted of sub-industry products.

The sub-industry exports, which were $6 billion 488 million 673 thousand in the January-June period of last year, increased by 10.54% in the same period of this year and rose to $7 billion 172 million 556 thousand.

Sub-industry exports to Germany reached $1.7 billion

In terms of countries, Germany had the highest share in supplier industry exports. Exports to this country in the 6 months of the year increased by 10% compared to the same period of 2022, from $1 billion 531 million 218 thousand to $1 billion 691 million 823 thousand.

Italy was recorded as the second country to which automotive sub-industry manufacturers export the most. In the January-June period of last year, $417 million 141 thousand of products were sent to Italy, and the export made in the same months of this year reached $472 million 421 thousand with an increase of 13%.

The supplier industry exports to Russia, which ranks third in the list, increased by 93% from $234 million 229 thousand to $453 million 40 thousand in the same period.

Sub-industry exports to France increased by 20%

In January-June 2023, France ranked 4th with a 20% increase and $441 million 77 thousand in sub-industry exports compared to the same period of the previous year, while the USA ranked 5th with a decrease of 9,8 % and $414 million 828 thousand, The United Kingdom ranked 6th with an increase of 13.4% and $366 million 655 thousand, while Spain ranked 7th with an increase of 11% and $359 million 988 thousand.

Spain was followed by Poland with a 10% increase and $295 million 445 thousand, Romania with a 15% increase and $222 million 896 thousand, and Belgium with a 0.6% decrease and $175 million 375 thousand.

Over 100% increase to Ukraine, Belarus, Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan

When we look at the countries to which $1 million and more are exported, an increase of more than 100% was recorded to Ukraine, Belarus, Saudi Arabia and Kazakhstan in the January-June period.

Sub-industry exports in the January-June period increased by 114% to Ukraine from $35 million 692 thousand to $76 million 301 thousand, to Belarus increased by 110% from $20 million 759 thousand to $43 million 581 thousand, Saudi Arabia reached $32 million 253 thousand from $1 million 295 thousand with an increase of 2 thousand 389%, and Kazakhstan reached 27 million $28 thousand from $12 million 326 thousand with an increase of 119%.
