Togg will be on European roads in 2025

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir said that Turkiye’s domestic and fully electric car Togg will be seen on European roads in 2025.

Kacir met with journalists and made statements within the scope of his Brussels contacts.

Stating that the pre-ordered 20 thousand Toggs will be delivered to their owners by the end of the year, Kacir said, “By the end of 2024, Togg will have reached the point of being exported to the European Union (EU), and in 2025, we will see an increasing number of Toggs on European roads.”

Minister Kacir reminded that Togg was designed as a smart and electric car from birth and said, “In fact, Togg is one of the most concrete examples of Turkiye’s green transformation and carbon neutral vision.”

“New investment news will come in terms of electric vehicles in Turkiye”

Minister of Industry and Technology Kacir noted that they met with many international companies on electric vehicles and explained that new investment news in this field will be received day by day in Turkiye.

Stating that they are in contact with Tesla and other companies, Kacir said, “The Chinese also have a very serious interest. We have opened our doors to every investor who will add value to Turkiye. As long as they act with a win-win approach. I believe we will hear new news in the coming period.”

Reminding that Toyota took its first step in rechargeable hybrid production in Europe in Turkiye, Kacir said, “We held its ceremony in the past weeks. Ford has completed its investment in the production of electric commercial vehicles in its Yenikoy facilities.”

Reminding that they inaugurated the facility in question with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Kacir said, “The capacity of the facility increased from 105 thousand to over 400 thousand. It was a tremendous investment. Not only Ford vehicles but also Volkswagen vehicles will be produced there. All of this is a part of Turkiye’s green transformation.”

Pointing out that they accelerated electrification not only in land vehicles but also in rail systems in transportation, Kacir said, “Our E5000 electric locomotive is another critical project. The number of all these projects will increase in the coming period.”
