Tourism in Turkiye is much cheaper for Russian tourists this year

For Russians, holiday tickets to Turkiye in the summer of 2024 have become 10-30% cheaper. According to tourism industry representatives, Turkish hoteliers and tour operators reviewed their pricing policies after the decline in demand from Russian tourists last year.

In the statement made by Anex tour operator, “In recent years, early booking in Turkiye has begun to see less demand among consumers compared to the pre-pandemic period. Therefore, this year the hotel industry and tour operators decided to join forces and offer the most suitable offers to the market at the booking stage before the start of the season. The 2024 pricing policy envisages a 20-30% price reduction in packages compared to last year.”

Resort Holiday also reported a reduction in the cost of future holidays. According to the news in Gazetem.ru, the company’s commercial director Anna Tkacenko said in a statement on the subject: “After last year’s extremely unsuccessful season, many hotels in Turkiye revised their pricing policies. Currently, the contract prices we receive from hoteliers have decreased on average from 10% to 17%, which means that the final price of the tour has decreased by this value.”

AVERAGE COST IS €1,013 PER PERSON IN 2024

“Intourist” calculated the average cost of a cheaper holiday in Turkiye and said in their statement: “While the average price per tourist in 2023 was €1,147, it is now €1,013 per person in 2024. In other words, the exchange rate difference is already at least minus 12% compared to last year’s prices.”

Industry representatives reported that the price policy of the Turkish side encouraged Russians to book summer tours more actively, and stated that the figures were significantly higher than last year’s dynamics.
