Tradesmen expect around 60 billion liras in turnover during Ramadan

Bendevi Palandöken, the President of the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), stated, ‘During this holiday, it is expected that approximately 50-60 billion liras will enter the market, from purchases for the holiday to purchases for gifts.’

Palandöken reported in a written statement that activity in the market has begun as the days leading up to Ramadan Bayram approach.

Palandöken stated that the 9-day holiday period will also revitalize the tourism sector.

“There is also election activity in the market, but people have started shopping for holiday clothes, gifts, and treats. Although high inflation affects all segments this year, everyone is definitely buying something for their children for the holiday. It is expected that approximately 50-60 billion liras will enter the market from holiday shopping to purchases for gifts.”

Palandöken pointed out that intercity travel will increase during the holiday, and sales of holiday essentials such as clothing, shoes, cologne, sugar, chocolate, baklava, and börek have started days before the holiday.

Palandöken commented, “During this period, it is very important for shopping to be done from reliable, well-known tradesmen for both price control and health reasons. There must be a possibility of returning the products you purchase. On the other hand, with the arrival of April and spring, all sectors, from cleaning products to painting, revive seasonally.”
