Turkish banks’ loan volume reached ₺11.9 trillion

The loan volume of the banking sector increased by ₺103 billion 624 million last week, reaching ₺11 trillion 941 billion 109 million.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the sector’s credit volume increased by ₺103 billion 624 million as of February 2.

During the said period, total credit volume increased from ₺11 trillion 837 billion 485 million to ₺11 trillion 941 billion 109 million.

Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbanks, decreased by ₺230 billion 262 million last week. Total deposits reached ₺14 trillion 871 billion 55 million.

The amount of consumer loans increased to ₺1 trillion 533 billion

The amount of consumer loans increased by ₺6 billion 279 million to ₺1 trillion 533 billion 183 million as of February 2. Of these loans, ₺436 billion 798 million consisted of housing loans, ₺94 billion 33 million from vehicle loans and ₺1 trillion 2 billion 352 million from consumer loans.

During this period, the amount of installment commercial loans increased by ₺9 billion 267 million and reached ₺1 trillion 447 billion 705 million.

Banks’ individual credit card receivables also increased by 3.4%, reaching ₺1 trillion 247 billion 389 million. Of the individual credit card receivables, ₺540 billion 534 million were installment debts and ₺706 billion 856 million were non-installment debts.

Legal equities increased

As of February 2, non-performing receivables in the banking sector increased by ₺1 billion 336 million compared to the previous week, reaching ₺196 billion 86 million. Special provisions were allocated for ₺159 billion 531 million of non-performing receivables.

In the same period, the legal equity capital of the banking system increased by ₺23 billion 872 million and reached ₺2 trillion 617 billion 843 million.
