Turkish defense industry increases cooperation with the United Arab Emirates

Presidential Defense Industry President Haluk Gorgun, during his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), held a series of meetings regarding the development of defense industry cooperation between Turkiye and this country.

In his statement regarding his visit, Gorgun stated that they attended the meeting with officials of Turkish companies to develop cooperation in the field of defense industry, organized in Abu Dhabi on January 30-31, under the leadership of the SSB.

Giving information about the evaluations made at the meeting, Gorgun said, “Here, our friends, mainly the end users of the Navy and Air Force, and especially the managers and technical personnel of our companies, talked about 80 predetermined items. These collaborations increased after the visit of our President in 2023. With the vision and motivation put forth by both the Emir of the UAE and our President, everyone in our defense industry and ecosystem tried their best to produce results.”

Emphasizing that the meeting was beneficial for the parties, Gorgun said, “There is a comprehensive sale here. Some of them have been delivered, some are still being delivered. I think that hearing the satisfaction of users doing business with Turkiye is also a gain for our country.”

Within the scope of the visit, Gorgun held a series of meetings with United Arab Emirates Deputy Chief of General Staff Ahmad Al Nahyan, General Staff Force Development Authority Chairman General Hassan Al Hammadi, and Tawazun Council CEO Muammar Shehab, Faisal Al Bennai, Chairman of Edge, and Hamad Al Marar, CEO of Edge.
