Turkish glassware sector made the most exports to England

Oksuz, President of ZUCDER, stated that England is the country they export to the most and said, “We have increased our exports to England by 20% on quantity basis and 50% on value basis in the last 5 years.”

According to the statement made by the Glassware Association (ZUCDER), the glassware industry, which has a size of $12 billion and exported $6.5 billion last year, aims to increase its exports to $7 billion in 2023.

ZUCDER decided to organize B2B events in 6 countries this year in order to increase exports. In this context, B2B will also be organized in the UK, which is among the target countries determined by the Ministry of Commerce for the 2022-2023 period. In line with its 2023 goals, the association will take place in London on 7-10 June with the “England Sectoral Trade Delegation”.

ZUCDER President Mesut Oksuz, whose views were included in the statement, stated that their sector realized a significant amount of exports to EU countries in 2022.

Noting that 10% of glassware exports and $600 million belong to England, Oksuz said, “England is the country we export the most to. In the last 5 years, we have increased our exports to England by 20% on quantity basis and 50% on value basis. As a result of our negotiations, we want to contribute 20% to our exports. We export the most plastic and metal tableware to the UK.”
