Benchmark index drops 2.5 points at opening session
Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Wednesday at 7,733.72 points, up 0.03%, or 2.54 points, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Tuesday at 7,736.26 points, down 1.06%,with a daily trading volume of 99 billion Turkish liras ($3.29 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 29.9745 as of 10.05 a.m. local time (0705GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 32.7940, while a British pound traded for 38.0450 Turkish liras.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $78.00 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,030.95.
