Turkiye: TPAO will operate methane gas fields in 3 provinces

Turkish Petroleum Corporation will conduct methane gas exploration and production at the fields in the provinces of Bartin, Kastamonu and Zonguldak belonging to the Turkish Hard Coal Corporation.

The decision of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs, regarding petroleum was published in the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), Bartin, Kastamonu and Zonguldak will have the right to operate methane gas in the Turkish Hard Coal Authority (TTK) concession fields.

In the aforementioned methane gas operating licenses, rights will be granted to TPAO to conduct exploration, survey and operation without transferring the license. TPAO will be able to carry out all the necessary operations in the locations it deems appropriate during the methane gas exploration and operation studies and will be able to bring the necessary equipment to the field to encourage gas output.

The fees related to application and registration fees and all costs incurred for establishing rights will be covered by TPAO.
