Benchmark index gains 6.5 points at opening session
Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Monday at 7,920.28 points, up slightly by 0.08%, or 6.52 points, from the previous close.
Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index closed Friday at 7,913.76 points, down by 0.82%, with a daily trading volume of 75 billion Turkish liras ($2.57 billion).
The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.9840 as of 10.02 a.m. local time (0702GMT),the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 31.2160, and a British pound traded for 36.3430 Turkish liras.
Brent crude oil was selling for around $76.50 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,014.65.
