Turkiye’s Automotive Industry Leads Export Growth in April, Reaching $2.7 Billion

The automotive industry was recorded as the sector with the highest exports last month, with $2.7 billion.

According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), the automotive industry exported $2.7 billion in the industry group.

This sector was followed by chemicals and products with $2.5 billion, and ready-made clothing and apparel with $1.2 billion.

The sector that increased its exports the most in April was hazelnuts and their products with 43.9%.

Exports of the industrial group, which realizes 81.2% of Turkiye’s total exports, were calculated as $13.3 billion with a decrease of 3.7% last month.

In April, exports of $2.6 billion were made in the agricultural group, which constitutes 16% of total exports, with an increase of 2.4%, and $467.2 million were made in the mining group, which constitutes 2.9% of total exports, without any percentage change.

Most exports to Germany from the Turkish automotive industry

The top three export countries in April were Germany with $1.3 billion, the USA with $1 billion and the United Kingdom with $871.7 million.

The top 3 cities with the most exports during this period were Istanbul with $6.7 billion, Kocaeli with $1.5 billion, and Bursa with $1.2 billion. Last month, 51 cities increased their exports.

In April, 1068 companies exported for the first time. New companies contributed $82 million to exports. Unit export value decreased to $1.34.
