$41.5 million worth of honey exports from Turkiye to 59 countries

In the first 11 months of the year, $41 million 503 thousand worth of honey was exported to 59 countries.

Saffet Kalyoncu, Chairman of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters’ Association (DKIB), said that 15,564 tons of honey was exported from the country in 11 months.

Pointing out that $41 million 503 thousand were gained from the said export, Kalyoncu stated that exports increased by 92% in amount and 60% in revenue compared to the same period of the previous year, which earned $25 million 868 thousand 225 in return for 8 thousand 120 tons of honey.

Kalyoncu stated that the USA, Spain and Germany are the 3 countries where the most honey is sold, adding that $15 million 990 thousand of honey were exported to the USA, $6 million 672 thousand to Spain and $5 million 58 thousand to Germany.

Expressing that the increase in exports is pleasing, Kalyoncu noted that the diversity of countries has increased in honey export.

Kalyoncu stated that $1 million 585 thousand worth of honey was exported from the Eastern Black Sea Region during this period and that the USA was the leader in the region’s exports.

Reminding that there is a short time until the end of the year, Kalyoncu said, “We believe that our Turkish honey exports will meet our year-end expectations. In this context, I hope we will complete the year with very good numbers.”
