Turkish stock exchange up at Friday open

Benchmark index gains some 12 points at opening session

Turkiye’s benchmark stock index opened Friday at 7,453.42 points, up by 0.16%, or 11.93 points,from Thursday’s close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index ended Thursday at 7,441.50 points, down 2.09%, with a daily trading volume of 178 billion Turkish liras ($6.59 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 27.0450 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT), and the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 29.7340, while a British pound traded for 34.3890 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $86.10 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,948.60.
