Turkiye: Energy import bill decreased by 27.8% in October

The amount Turkiye paid for energy imports decreased by 27.8% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching $5 billion 379 million 917 thousand.

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics prepared by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Commerce, Turkiye’s total imports in October increased by 0.6% compared to the same month of the previous year and reached $29 billion 390 million.

$5 billion 379 million 917 thousand of this amount consisted of “mineral fuels, mineral oils and products obtained from their distillation, bituminous substances, mineral waxes”, which are summarized as energy imports.

In October last year, this figure was recorded as $7 billion 451 million 432 thousand. Thus, the amount of energy imports decreased by 27.8% on an annual basis.

On the other hand, crude oil imports increased by 2% in October compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 2 million 943 thousand 12 tons.
