Turkiye Exports Buses, Minibuses, and Midibuses to 59 Countries in First Quarter, Achieving $657.8 Million in Sales

Industry representatives, who made sales of $657 million 807 thousand abroad in the first quarter of the year, increased exports by 61% compared to the January-March period of 2023.

Buses, minibuses and midibuses were exported from Turkiye to 59 countries in the January-March period.

According to the AA correspondent’s compilation from the records of the Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters Association, Turkiye’s bus, minibus and midibus exports increased by 61% in the first quarter of the year compared to the same period of 2023.

Industry representatives, who increased foreign sales from $408 million 504 thousand in January-March last year to $657 million 807 thousand in the same months this year, sent buses, minibuses and midibuses to 59 countries.

Exports to France, the largest export market, increased by 60%

During this period, bus, minibus and midibus exports to France, the country with the most exports, increased by 60%.

Exports to France, which were $64 million 687 thousand in the January-March period of last year, increased to $104 million 103 thousand in the same months of 2024.

Bus, minibus and midibus exports to Italy, the second largest market, increased by 17.28%, from $56 million 122 thousand to $65 million 821 thousand.

Exports to Germany, which ranked third, increased by 55%, reaching $65 million 354 thousand from $42 million 164 thousand.

Exports to France, Italy and Germany amounted to $235 million 278 thousand. 35.76% of total bus, minibus and midibus exports were made to these 3 countries.

High rate of increase in exports to Saudi Arabia

There was a 56.53% increase in exports to Spain, which ranks fourth, in the first quarter compared to the same period in 2023.

It was determined that exports to Spain, which were $37 million 91 thousand in the first quarter of last year, increased to $58 million 58 thousand in the same period of this year.

It was noted that bus, minibus and midibus exports to Saudi Arabia increased by 2873% in the first quarter, from $1 million 612 thousand to $47 million 936 thousand. With this figure, Saudi Arabia became the 5th country that exported the most buses, minibuses and midibuses.

In January-March, in bus, minibus and midibus exports, the United Kingdom ranked 6th with an increase of 80.11% and $41 million 103 thousand compared to the same period of 2023, and the USA ranked 7th with an increase of 91.84% and $31 million 580 thousand, Portugal ranks 8th with a 182% increase and $26 million 757 thousand, Poland ranks 9th with a 15% increase and $26 million 367 thousand, and Israel ranks 10th with a 29% increase and $26 million.

Over a million dollars of bus, minibus and midibus exports were made in January-March this year to Morocco, Chile, Estonia and Finland, where exports were not made in the same period last year.
