Turkiye Ranks Second in Europe for Fiber Infrastructure

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu stated that Turkiye has risen to second place in fiber infrastructure in Europe after France in “fiber-to-the-home” access to 18 million households.

Making a statement regarding the results of the “FTTH/B Market Panorama Research”, in which the FTTH European Council compiled data on the fiber infrastructure of the countries, Uraloglu said, “I believe that our country will be the leader of Europe in fiber infrastructure very soon.

We delivered fiber infrastructure to nearly 2.5 million homes in just one year. Thus, we became one of the top two countries in Europe in fiber in one year.”

TARGET IS 850 THOUSAND KILOMETERS

Uraloglu stated that they will bring broadband internet service to every home and said, “Currently, our total fiber length is approximately 550 thousand kilometers and we plan to increase it to 600 thousand kilometers by the end of this year. In 4 years, we will increase our fiber length to 850 thousand kilometers.”
