Turkiye: Southeast’s grain exports reached $282 million in January

Southeastern Anatolia Region’s grain and pulse exports reached $282 million in January.

Celal Kadooglu, President of the Southeastern Anatolia Grains, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that their sector is important for the region’s exports.

Stating that they are the sector that exports the most in the region, Kadooglu said, “The export of our sector in January was $282 million. Iraq, the USA and Syria came first in the basic food exports of Southeastern Anatolia. Pasta, wheat flour, biscuits and wafers were exported the most.”

Kadooglu emphasized that the measures restricting foreign trade in Iraq continue and that they are meeting with the relevant administrators in Iraq to remove these restrictions, and noted that they received the results of their work with the increase in exports.
