Wheat flour export from the Southeastern Anatolia Region in the first 5 months of the year reached $211 million.
Celal Kadooglu, President of the Southeastern Anatolia Cereals, Pulses, Oilseeds and Products Exporters’ Association, stated that Iraq and Syria are among the top wheat export countries.
Stating that the flour produced in the Southeastern Anatolia Region adds flavor to the tables, Kadooglu said:
“In the Southeastern Anatolia Region, wheat flour export was $211 million in the first 5 months of the year. Although wheat export decreased by 4.7% compared to the same period of the previous year, it managed to realize 36% of Turkiye’s total wheat export. The presence of branded flour producers in the region, which generated $611 million in revenue with 1.3 million tons of wheat exports last year, created a commercial diversity.”
