Turkiye: Tea exports exceeded $23.6 million in 11 months

An income of $23 million 603 thousand 945 was obtained from tea exports from Turkiye in the January-November period of this year. Belgium, the United Kingdom and the USA were the three countries that exported the most tea.

Ahmet Hamdi Gurdogan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Black Sea Exporters Association, said that tea was sold to 117 countries, autonomous and free zones from Turkiye.

Gurdogan stated that 4 thousand 995 tons of tea were sold abroad in January-November 2023, providing an income of $23 million 603 thousand 945. He said that in the same period last year, exports amounted to $19 million 994 thousand 569, equivalent to 5 thousand 701 tons, thus foreign sales increased by 18%.

Gurdogan said that Belgium, the United Kingdom and the USA are the three countries that export the most tea. He reported that during this period, $8 million 166 thousand 703 of tea was sold to Belgium, $2 million 973 thousand 980 to the United Kingdom and $2 million 509 thousand 532 to the USA.

Gurdogan said that during the said period, tea was exported to Poland, Slovakia, Italy, Brazil, Gabon, Antigua and Barbuda, Sao Tome and Principe, Uruguay, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Togo, Latvia and Rwanda. He said that the demand for Turkish tea has increased and that this year will end with very good figures.
