Turkiye: The Central Bank’s 2024 calendar has been announced

The dates of the Monetary Policy Committee meetings to be held by the Central Bank next year, as well as the Inflation Reports and Financial Stability Reports to be announced, have been announced.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT) published the 2024 Monetary Policy, which serves as a road map for the policies to be followed next year.

The report stated that the 7-day period before the MPC meeting was called the “silent period” and that no external communication regarding monetary policy was made during this period. “During this period, units that provide technical input to the decision-making process in preparation for the MPC meeting make comprehensive analyzes and evaluations to the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC). MPC will hold 12 meetings in 2024 within the framework of a previously announced calendar. The monetary policy decision and its brief justification, together with its English translation, will be published on the same day at 14:00, and the meeting summary, including detailed evaluations of the MPC, will be published on the CBRT website within 5 business days following the meeting.”

In the report, which also included the steps taken by the Central Bank last year, information on the monetary policy taken in 2023, simplification in the macroprudential framework, quantitative tightening and selective credit decisions, as well as macroprudential regulations for TL deposits were also shared.
