Turkiye: The credit volume of the banking sector was ₺11 trillion 750 billion last week

The credit volume of the banking sector increased by ₺88 billion 208 million last week, reaching ₺11 trillion 750 billion 166 million.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the sector’s credit volume increased by ₺88 billion 208 million as of January 12.

During the said period, total credit volume increased from ₺11 trillion 661 billion 959 million to ₺11 trillion 750 billion 166 million.

Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbanks, increased by ₺352 billion 715 million last week. Total deposits of the banking sector, which increased by 2.4%, reached ₺15 trillion 32 billion 975 million.

The amount of consumer loans increased to ₺1 trillion 525 billion

The amount of consumer loans increased by ₺9 billion 111 million to ₺1 trillion 525 billion 370 million as of January 12. ₺437 billion 709 million of the loans in question consisted of housing loans, ₺95 billion 66 million of vehicle loans and ₺992 billion 596 million of consumer loans.

During this period, the amount of installment commercial loans increased by ₺7 billion 266 million and reached ₺1 trillion 400 billion 748 million.

Banks’ individual credit card receivables increased by 1.8% to ₺1 trillion 194 billion 631 million. Of the individual credit card receivables, ₺510 billion 318 million were installment debts and ₺684 billion 313 million were non-installment debts.

Legal equities increased

As of January 12, non-performing receivables in the banking sector increased by ₺1 billion 218 million compared to the previous week, reaching ₺193 billion 202 million. Special provisions were allocated for ₺154 billion 630 million of non-performing receivables.

In the same period, the legal equity capital of the banking system increased by ₺17 billion 534 million and reached ₺2 trillion 462 billion 166 million.
