Turkiye’s automotive sub-industry exports are at an all-time high

Turkiye’s automotive sub-industry left behind 2022, which was the year of best performance on an annual basis, with exports of $13 billion 47 million in 11 months.

According to the compilation of data from the Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters Association and the Turkish Exporters Assembly, the Turkish automotive industry increased its exports by 14% in January-November 2023 compared to the same period last year, reaching $31 billion 829 million 190 thousand.

“Subsidiary industry” exports, the most important sub-product group of the automotive industry, reached $13 billion 47 million 73 thousand in the January-November period, with a 41% share of general automotive exports.

Sub-industry exports broke a record by exceeding the sub-industry exports of $12 billion 983 million 442 thousand on an annual basis in 2022 in 11 months.

In January-November 2023, 9.9% more products were sold abroad compared to the same period last year.

Exports were recorded as $11 billion 864 million 491 thousand in the January-November period of 2022, when sub-industrial products were sent to more than 200 countries, free zones and autonomous regions.

51% increase in 11-month exports to Russia

Germany, the main market of the automotive industry, ranked first among the countries to which Turkish automotive sub-industry companies exported the most, reaching the highest annual figure of all time.

Exports to Germany in the January-November period increased by 9.1% compared to the same period in 2022, increasing from $2 billion 738 million 724 thousand to $2 billion 987 million 969 thousand.

There was a 51.4% increase in exports to Russia, the second country with the most exports. In the January-November period of 2022, $585 million 10 thousand of sub-industry products were sold to Russia, and $886 million 125 thousand of exports were made in the same period of this year.

Sub-industry exports to Italy, which ranks third, increased by 9%, from $727 million 987 thousand to $793 million 428 thousand.

Sub-industry exports to the USA, ranked 4th, decreased by 2.88% to $784 million 23 thousand, and to France, ranked 5th, increased by 16.9% to $782 million 101 thousand.

In sub-industry exports, the United Kingdom ranked 6th with $689 million 740 thousand and Spain ranked 7th with $626 million 403 thousand, Poland ranked 8th with $535 million 262 thousand, Romania ranked 9th with $448 million 794 thousand, and Belgium ranked 10th with $322 million 707 thousand.
