Turkiye’s bus, minibus and midibus exports broke a record in 2023

Last year, over $2.3 billion of bus, minibus and midibus exports were made from Turkiye to 82 countries.

According to the compilation from the records of Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters Association, Turkiye’s bus, minibus and midibus exports in 2023 increased by 57.16% compared to 2022, increasing from $1 billion 467 million 176 thousand to $2 billion 305 million 845 thousand.

Industry representatives reached the highest export figure of all years by exporting more than the record exports of $2 billion 31 million in 2019.

Vehicle manufacturers, which sent buses, minibuses and midibuses to 82 countries last year, made the most exports to France, Germany and Italy.

Exports to France, which ranks first, increased by 32.43% compared to 2022, increasing from $308 million 798 thousand to $408 million 960 thousand.

Exports to Germany increased by 96.34%, reaching $315 million 972 thousand from $160 million 928 thousand.

Exports to Italy, where $144 million 859 thousand were exported in 2022, were recorded as $301 million 450 thousand with an increase of 108% in 2023.

Industry representatives realized 44.51% of bus, minibus and midibus exports in 2023 to France, Germany and Italy.

Remarkable increases in exports to Spain and Romania

Exports to Spain, one of the countries where sector representatives increased their exports significantly in 2023, increased by 291.20%. Exports to this country increased from $49 million 609 thousand to $194 million 75 thousand.

Industry representatives, who exported buses, minibuses and midibuses worth $48 million 522 thousand to Romania in 2022, increased foreign sales by 125.55% to $109 million 446 thousand.

Last year, exports to the United Kingdom increased by 94.97%, reaching $105 million 166 thousand from $53 million 939 thousand.

Bus, minibus and midibus manufacturers also exported $510 thousand of vehicles to Iceland, where no products were sent in 2022, and $480 thousand of vehicles to Tajikistan, $219 thousand to South Korea, $217 thousand to Belarus and $188 thousand to Japan.
