Turkiye’s January LPG Imports Down 18.47% Compared to Previous Year

Turkiye’s LPG imports decreased by 18.47% in January compared to the same month last year, reaching 274 thousand 474 tons.

According to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority’s “Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) Market Sector Report” for January 2024, LPG was imported from Algeria, USA, Nigeria, Russia, Kazakhstan and Greece by refinery and distributor license holders.

LPG imports decreased by 18.47% in January compared to the same month last year, reaching 274 thousand 474 tons.

During this period, LPG exports by refinery and distributor license holders decreased by 3.90% to 43 thousand 852 tons.

Exports were made to 12 countries and regions, including Greece, Bulgaria, Tunisia, Romania, TRNC, United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Germany, Lebanon, Austria, Switzerland and Turkiye free zones.

LPG production increased by 26.16% in the same period and reached 73 thousand 575 tons.

Total LPG sales made by distributor license holders in January compared to the same month last year were calculated as approximately 322 thousand 159 tons.

In the month in question, auto gas ranked first in sales with a market share of 81.83%. This was followed by cylinder LPG sales with 14.5% and bulk LPG sales with 3.7%.
