Turkiye’s jewelry exports exceeded $7.6 billion

Exports of the jewelry industry broke a record with $7 billion 640 million 637 thousand last year.

The jewelry industry, which increased its market diversity by organizing purchasing delegations and appearing at fairs held abroad, increased its exports to historical levels.

According to information compiled from the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) data, Turkiye’s exports increased by 0.6% last year compared to 2022, reaching $255 billion 808 million 922 thousand.

Turkiye’s jewelry exports broke a record last year, increasing by 30.5% compared to 2022, reaching $7 billion 640 million 637 thousand.

The country to which the jewelry industry exports the most was the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with $3 billion 205 million 310 thousand, while the USA ranked second with $987 million 259 thousand and Switzerland ranked third with $476 million 704 thousand.

Jewelry exports to the UAE increased by 181% compared to 2022, accounting for 42% of the sector’s exports.

The 187.1% increase in jewelry exports to Switzerland also attracted attention.

Istanbul made the most exports

When looked at on a provincial basis, last year the highest exports in the jewelry industry were from Istanbul with $6 billion 428 million 677 thousand, followed by Corum with $1 billion 42 million 309 thousand.

During the said period, jewelry exports worth $50 million 958 thousand were made from Kastamonu, $36 million 361 thousand from Ankara and $23 million 537 thousand from Samsun.

Istanbul also took the lead in the sector’s export increase in value terms. While jewelry exports from Istanbul increased by $1 billion 526 million 389 thousand in the relevant period, exports from Corum also increased by $315 million 32 thousand.

Corum was followed by Izmir with an export increase of $7 million 102 thousand, Antalya with $2 million 307 thousand and Adana with $2 million 76 thousand.
