102 thousand 656 houses were sold in September across Turkiye

The number of house sales across Turkiye decreased by 9.5% in September compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 102 thousand 656.

Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced housing sales statistics for September.

Accordingly, the number of house sales across Turkiye decreased by 9.5% in September compared to the same month last year, falling to 102 thousand 656.

In the January-September period, housing sales decreased by 14.9% compared to the same period last year, reaching 900 thousand 74.

In September, Istanbul had the highest share in housing sales with 15 thousand 247 sales and 14.9%. According to sales numbers, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 9 thousand 48 house sales and 8.8% share, and Izmir with 5 thousand 476 house sales and 5.3% share.

The provinces with the lowest number of house sales were Ardahan with 47 houses, Hakkari with 55 houses and Bayburt with 77 houses.

Mortgaged house sales decreased

Mortgaged house sales across Turkiye decreased by 50.2% in September compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 8 thousand 446. The share of mortgage sales in total housing sales was 8.2%.

Mortgaged house sales in the January-September period were determined as 160 thousand 884, with a decrease of 29.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.

1971 of the mortgaged sales in September and 48 thousand 865 of the sales in the January-September period were first-hand sales.

Other housing sales decreased in August

Other housing sales across Turkiye decreased by 2.3% in September compared to the same month last year, falling to 94 thousand 210. The share of other sales in total housing sales was 91.8%.

Other housing sales in the January-September period were recorded as 739 thousand 190, with a decrease of 10.8% compared to the same period last year.

The number of first-hand house sales across Turkiye decreased by 15.2% in September compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 30 thousand 488. The share of first-hand house sales in total house sales was determined as 29.7%. First-hand house sales decreased by 13.9% in the January-September period compared to the same period last year, reaching 268 thousand 597.

Second-hand house sales across Turkiye decreased by 6.8% in September compared to the same month last year, falling to 72 thousand 168. The share of second-hand house sales in total house sales was 70.3%. Second-hand house sales were recorded as 631 thousand 477 in the January-September period, with a decrease of 15.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
