Agriculture PPI increased by 8.03% in July in Turkiye

Agricultural Products Producer Price Index increased by 8.03% in July compared to the previous month and increased by 62.48% compared to the same month of the previous year.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the Agricultural PPI data for July.

Accordingly, the said index increased by 8.03% in July compared to the previous month, by 35.14% compared to December of the previous year, by 62.48% compared to the same month of the previous year and by 102.1% compared to the twelve-month averages.

Looking at the change in the sectors compared to the previous month, there was an increase of 6.84% in forestry products and related services, 8.01% in agriculture and hunting products and related services, and 10.16% in fish and other fishery products.

Compared to the previous month, there was an increase of 3% in live animals and animal products, 8,04% in one-year herbal products and 16,63% in perennial vegetable products in the main groups.

According to the annual Agri-PPI, 3 subgroups showed lower changes and 8 subgroups showed higher changes. The subgroups with low annual increase were fibrous plants with 11.33%, cereals (excluding rice), legumes and oil seeds with 17.99%, respectively. On the other hand, the subgroups with the highest annual increase were calculated as vegetables and melon-watermelon, roots and tubers with 108.92%, live poultry and eggs with 90.79%, respectively.

According to the monthly Agricultural-PPI, 7 subgroups showed lower changes and 4 subgroups showed higher changes. The subgroups, which showed a decrease compared to the previous month, were recorded as pome fruits and stone fruits with 12.62%, vegetables with 12.51%, and melon-watermelon, roots and tubers, respectively. The only subgroup that showed a decrease compared to the previous month was paddy with 0.45%.

While the average price of 21 of the 87 items included in the index decreased, the average price of 59 of them increased.
