Exports from Sakarya in 9 months reached $4.1 billion

Sakarya, one of the leading provinces in Turkiye’s automotive exports, made exports of $4 billion 115 million 528 thousand in 9 months this year.

According to the AA correspondent’s compilation of data from the Turkish Exporters Assembly, Sakarya, which contributed 2.5% to the country’s exports in the January-September period, ranked seventh among the provinces with the most foreign sales, after Istanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, Izmir, Ankara and Gaziantep.

Sakarya, which has a total of 9 organized industrial zones, continues to add strength to the economy with its automotive, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, machinery and parts, air conditioning industry, chemicals and products, steel, electricity and electronics sectors.

Sakarya, which exported $3 billion 647 million 533 thousand in the January-September period last year, achieved foreign sales of $4 billion 115 million 528 thousand with an increase of 12.83% in the same period this year.

The largest share in the exports of Sakarya, which sends its products to 152 countries and 10 free zones in total, was the automotive sector with 88%. Automotive exports worth $3 billion 625 million 495 thousand were made in 9 months from the city, where production facilities such as Toyota, TurkTraktor and Otokar are located.

The other sectors with the most exports from the city were ferrous and non-ferrous metals with $78 million 142 thousand, chemicals and products with $67 million 943 thousand, machinery and parts with $62 million 793 thousand, and air conditioning industry with $54 million 98 thousand.

The sector that increased its exports the most in the third quarter of the year compared to the same period last year was machinery and parts, with 32.4%.

Most exports to Poland

In the January-September period, the largest export from the city was to Poland with $561 million 137 thousand. Exports to this country increased by 33.8% compared to the same period last year.

The second country to which Sakarya exported the most was France with $544 million 102 thousand. France was followed by Spain with $462 million 877 thousand, the United Kingdom with $435 million 287 thousand and Germany with $316 million 519 thousand.
