Exports of 57 provinces in Turkiye increased in the first quarter of the year

In the statement made by the Ministry, it was noted that the Turkish economy has shown uninterrupted growth for the past 14 quarters, and exports in the first quarter of this year reached 63.7 billion dollars with a 3.6% increase.

It was stated in the announcement that in the January-March period, 14 provinces achieved exports exceeding 1 billion dollars, and exports increased in 57 provinces. The statement emphasized that the increase in exports in provinces contributes to local development by strengthening production, investment, and employment capacity.

The statement highlighted that the developments observed in foreign trade in the first quarter indicate that net exports make a positive contribution to growth, stating, “As the Ministry of Trade, we continue our efforts to increase exports with determination through policies and strategies aimed at high value-added and competitive exports, and market and product diversification. On the other hand, we aim for the strong spread of exports throughout our country. A more prosperous Turkey is targeted as a result of the increase in production and employment at the local level.”

Highest export increase in Çorum In the scope of “export data according to activity provinces” published since the beginning of this year, the statement provided information on annual export developments in some provinces in March, as follows:

“Istanbul ranked first with a 23% decrease and 4 billion 410 million dollars, Kocaeli ranked second with a 5.6% increase and 3 billion 40 million dollars, İzmir ranked third with a 1.5% decrease and 2 billion 255 million dollars, Bursa ranked fourth with a 0.3% decrease and 1 billion 636 million dollars in exports, and Ankara ranked fifth with a 1% increase and 1 billion 25 million dollars. In March, Çorum achieved the highest export increase with 187 million dollars compared to the same month last year. Kocaeli ranked second with 160 million dollars, Mersin ranked third with 121 million dollars, Yalova ranked fourth with 99 million dollars, and Afyonkarahisar ranked fifth with 49 million dollars.”
