Financial Market Report: Gold, Stocks, and Dollar Increase in Weekly Trading

Financial Market Report: BIST 100 Index Climbs 3.28%, Mavi Giyim Tops Stock Performers

This week, investors saw notable gains in gold, stocks, and the dollar. Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index concluded the week with a 3.28% increase, closing at 10,471.32 points. Throughout the week, the index fluctuated, hitting a low of 9,958.11 and peaking at 10,575.98 points.

In sectoral performance:

  • The Financials Index rose by 2.39% to 11,745.79 points.
  • The Services Index surged by 4.92% to 9,974.16 points.
  • The Industrials Index gained 2.07% to reach 14,150.32 points.
  • The Technology Index saw a modest increase of 0.11%, ending at 13,681.19 points.

Top Performers in Stocks

Among BIST 100 stocks, Mavi Giyim led the gains with a 14.52% increase. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik followed with a 12.16% rise, and BİM Birlesik Magazalar posted a 12.06% gain.

Conversely, the biggest losers were Alfa Solar Enerji, down 7.02%, Girisim Elektrik Sanayi, dropping 6.93%, and Kontrolmatik Teknoloji, which fell by 6.81%.

The most valuable companies traded on Borsa Istanbul included:

  • Koc Holding at ₺551.557 billion,
  • Garanti BBVA at ₺440.580 billion,
  • Turkish Airlines at ₺430.215 billion.

Gold and Dollar on the Rise

The price of 24-carat gold per gram increased by 2.04%, reaching ₺2,450, while the price of a Republic gold coin climbed by 0.44% to ₺15,970.

The dollar’s selling price rose by 1.31%, settling at ₺32.6860. In contrast, the euro’s selling price saw a slight decline of 0.01%, ending at ₺34.9060.

The British pound’s selling price increased by 0.75%, moving from ₺41.1030 to ₺41.4100. Meanwhile, the Swiss franc saw a significant rise of 1.95%, selling at ₺36.7000 compared to the previous week.
